Niveus was a rough place during a storm. Snow pounded against the walls, making ghostly sounds echo throughout the base. It made it seem as though the fallen soldiers still haunted the halls. That was ridiculous, of course. The ghosts of old could not exist.

Rick gripped his rifle so hard his knuckles were white. He turned a corner, and saw a dragoon. He fired off a burst, and ran. The dragoon chased. Around the corner, into the stairs ... Rick realized he couldn't run forever. He turned, ready to die, and waited. Nothing happened. Tentatively, he opened his eyes, and saw something amazing: the dragoon was dancing. After a bit, it started to sing! Sing! Its words haunted Rick, even after he had retired from the service.
He thought they must have driven him insane, until he realized he was already insane. The ghosts of old could not exist.

This story is amazing proof of modern storytelling and the building of suspense and anticipation that is fulfilled with a complete satisfaction.
