MySQL is free database software that all tremulous websites use, along with everyone else.

Oracle (makers of expensive DB software) are trying to buy it.  It will be very profitable for them to screw MySQL, and despite MySQL being free if they get the patents and other IP then there's nothing the GPL can do to save MySQL from being squished, and in the process all these websites you like so much get damaged too.

So go vote.

GPL is not the answer

MySQL's open-source nature cannot guarantee its future all by itself.

Oracle claims that it doesn't matter who owns MySQL because it's open source and everybody can use it for free and develop it further. They say so to deny that there's a problem.

I don't even know how to respond to that. But then it pretty much speaks for itself.
