Hi, I'm the cookiemonster. Some of you know me from AA and Dretch storm most notably for spamming nonsense and crap. And raeping the hummies.

Anyway I'm a decent player and since AA was down and DS moved to 1.2, I decided to visit UBP for a change.

WTF insta-banned.

I had visited earlier and some of the admins were suspicious of me, because they had banned a previous player with the same name for some reason.

Nice way to check the IP, guy (thats his name).

I'm not so much intrested in getting unbanned as bringing this to the attention of everyone that apparently some admins ban by name alone (derp derp retarded). Also I can't seem to find their site at all, so this is pretty much the last place I can go to.

Although it would be nice if someone who knows them well enough could tell them I'm not the same person.

A good chunk of admins on UBP are retarded, let alone the majority of all admins in the game. Sad truth.

For the record, I cannot tell if you are lying or not (I'll offer the benefit of the doubt), but Guy had logical reasoning behind this. 'cookiemonster' must have had a bad reputation with Guy, and thus when he saw you, he thought 'cookiemonster' had somehow evaded the ban and decided to ban you. It was fault in his part that he did not atleast check or ask the whereabouts of you, but there was no cause for him to bother to check. Besides, in reality, how many admins out there are really going to think that far ahead?

None of this is your fault and hopefully this message will get out to others. You can try changing your name in case (Doubt you'll want to do that). Maybe its best to explain your situation to them on their forums or PM, but thats entirely up to you as there are other great servers to go on.

I know this topic is old but I thought I'd add to it.

A user by the name of "cookiemonster" is (or rather was) an avid ban evader. He was originally banned for the use of an aimbot but later evaded by changing his IP. Once he reconnected he would go about ruining the game for other users so he was banned on sight by many admins. He continued to do this for some time before being subnet banned a few times.

I apolagise is you were unfairly banned but you were using the same name, so you were banned. This is Tremulous, so we have no tools or permanent GUIDs that allow us to track users. IPs are the only way we can track users and as we all know, IPs aren't reliable.

Yes, sadly there are quite a few users who do ruin the game for everyone else. Scrolf has settled down and doesn't cause any trouble that I'm aware of but Google and other certain users are still acting like prats.

I dont understand why anyone ever disliked Scrolf. His english has gotten a lot better. I've had a number of conversations with him. Hes actually a very nice kid, and I like him a lot.
Also, whats Google been up to thats gettin him in trouble?
