Follow these instructions in the order I wrote them.
Open Tremulous, you're now at the Main menu
Click mods, double click on 'base'
Once that's loaded, exec your main cfg file, if you don't know what that is, nevermind. Run /exec ui/install.cfg
Tamper around with your HUD settings via the main menu NOW.
Join a server and the tremfusion 'mod' will load itself.
--- IF YOU USE A CUSTOM/MAIN/MULTIPLE CFGs, THE BELOW PARAGRAPH APPLIES TO YOU, IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT THIS IS I CBF EXPLAINING---
Once you have all your HUD settings perfect, quit tremulous, open autogen.cfg in a text editor and copy all the SETTINGS/(or binds too if yours aren't scrambled in some sort of crazy volt-hud code like mine were) over to your separate CFGs. This way whenever you exec them they'll load your hud w/o fail. Also if autogen gets deleted (this seems to happen randomly? or WAS a problem with older versions of Tremulous) you'll still have all your shit.
When you open trem next time, again, the tremfusion mod will be running and you won't be able to edit your HUD unless you load the base mod, again.
The Volt menu interface only works if the base mod, or a similar mod is running. Tremfusion holds its own menu file above all others and thus won't allow a HUD to change it... or something.
But yeah there's a way around it.
