GPP qvm causes anime icons instead of granger for [g] and etc.?

I would really like to know how to set this back to normal. When the server is running, it says it's loaded 44 of 44 emoticons, but they're all kanji or random anime icons. Whether I'm using the Aardvark qvm or not, it's the same.

I'd like to set it back, even if that means compiling from the source code, as I cannot bear to be without friend granger. Or friend mara for that matter. Friend mara's marahat is like a rave in your face.

It's on an Ubuntu 8.04 machine. If you need any additional info just let me know and I'll try and get that for you.
