new ret
« on: June 23, 2010, 11:50:26 pm »
:turret: ive been thinking, possibly a new turret will be nice. lets base it on other human wepons  :turret:
blaster: TERIBBLE
rifle: no
painsaw: HELL NO
shotgun: maybe
lasgun: meh
mass driver: maybe
chaingun: that IS the orriginal ret
pulse rifle: ok...
flamethrower: that be cool, but that will be like a tesla but better
lucifer: ALL THE WAY!

ive mainly been thinking on the lucifer turret the most. it will shoot rapid fire uncharged bullets but if there is a DC, it will charge up when there are no aliens in sight, if when there is, it shoots the massive bullet then goes to rapid fire

how about a grenade-acidtube?
these are stupid suggestions, don't even waste our time.

The worry is this would get OP and further encourage camping. Luci just seems a bit extreme too, the only one on that list I'd even really consider is the pulse rifle one.

this is actually a good idea, this can be an offensive siege turret or long range artillery more than a defensive turret, to keep it from destroying it's own defnses it can also have a minimum range, of course this can only be used at open maps.

As most turrets are built near the base it would have no range at all.

this turret wouldn't be built at the base though, it would be used on more open maps like rotcannon or similar maps.

I was going to argue that point but wow that was just such great evidence. My mind is blown.

I think this would be a good idea!  There is a counter for this idea, of course;  a Dretch could run in and make the turret waste the charge on it!  Then, the aliens could rush in and be out of the turret's range by the time it's recharged!  Great idea, hope an admin sees it!
