I hear on the news that the worst IT job anyone can have is a gaming programmer... no love or joy from the gaming community, they always want better, bigger, faster right now. The added fact that the trem dev's do it without pay and get the same grief that the community gives them... it's a wonder why they haven't ditched the project altogether.
All too true.
Things will be a lot smoother if you just stop whining at them.
Don't ask when 1.2 is coming out every time you see them ingame or on the forums.
Stop giving them grief over every little detail that wavers from your vision of Tremulous.
Stop whining about the GPP gameplay even though you haven't played for two phases.
Overall, I have
never seen such a hostile community in regards to the developers of the game.
I know in the Savage 1 community, the players
adore the devs. They always give full support and compliments to the work accomplished.
In the Realm of the Mad God community, again, the devs are adored. Whenever anyone has criticisms, they post a method that could serve as a workaround or a new gameplay function. Also, again, the devs are treated warmly and kindly rather than "omg this is stupid".
I could say this about practically every indie/OSS game on the net, besides Trem.
Seriously people, just don't be pricks about it and things will probably be a lot better for everyone.
