If I were you.....

1) Put down the energy drink.

2) How about an original composition? Your own game, from scratch? You have the talent, or are on the way. Take what you like about tremulous, and put it into a different game or setting. If you can come up with something innovative I might join your team.

I can model in blender, and animate. I am learning texturing. I know some c programming, but am switching to c++. I can construct game logic. I have nothing to show for any of this :P (well I will when my guide comes out, right now I'm waiting on new PC hardware to speed up rendering times)

I know If I could do what you say about make up my own game I could but I cant Make it online and stuff or get it from that quke engine they use. I have a mac and all I can do Is model and animate. If have those skills yeas. But That why Im trying too make this happen so we can Have a better version of this game. Trem 2 or just something like it.

Applications usually don't go over well if they can not be read by anyone except 5th graders.

As far as I know, the main thing holding back 1.2 from being released is that sounds need to be replaced. This isn't happening because (I assume) it's tedious and no one here has that specialty.

WOW how. I have a mod from the modding place on this forum and That mod contains the entire tremulous game sounds replaced with a whole new set of sounds. Just I have too create a new server then go back to the main menu then I can Start on the official U.S server and those new sounds that this person created is on there and working.

If you're this shit at making your message clear enough for others to understand, something tells me you do NOT specialize in sounds.
And before you reply, NO, having ears does not count as being a specialist.

Yeah, but that mod might not have the licensing info for its sounds, idk.

Awesome as superpie's mod is, it isn't compatible with 1.2

We need to add better textures to our old favorite maps.
It won't be easy and some of them are only found in compiled versions but for the ones that can be upgraded it would be very wise to do so.
.5 MB textures would blow the current ones outta the water,
same with the heavily compressed and small sounds.

Is it a GPL violation to not include the source material with the map?

Only if the map is based on a GPL map.
Any maps not in the MG repo?  Email me or come to irc.freenode.net/#mg.

So atcs for instance is distributed under a non-GPL license?

The GPL sucks for non-code, CC-BY-SA is the recommended equivalent for non-code stuff.  I'm not sure what licences the maps are under, AFAIK all 1.1 stuff was under one of the CC licences.

The GPL sucks for images and sounds, because there is no distinction between "source" and "binary" for a .jpg or .wav file, so 95% of the GPL makes no sense in this case. In the case of a map there is such a distinction (.map and .bsp file), so IMHO the GPL could very well be used for maps.
