i wish i could post up the obsidian tower i'm still building.  it's up about 7 z levels now, and down three and has a moat, filled with a pump and waterwheels that are powered by the moat's drainage.  it'd take up too many screenshots to show properly.  it's on the other side of the map from my main holdings.

This is my most recent save and I'm trying to make it homey before anything else. I've got premium wood, more flowers, and butterflies. There's a conflict somewhere in there with better than wolves, but I can't find it. D:

Moulds or mining?

i was talking dwarf fortress.  the tower is of roughly mined obsidian, the moat lined with rough granate.  i'm building a second keep on another corner of the map (expanding me to a settlement at all four) made totally from blocks of whatever material i have handy, mostly stone.  i think i can now handle just about any siege thrown at me, and possibly not be decimated by HFS when i finnally get around to mining out this adamantine vein i found....
