rasz_pl, Xboxes can indeed run Darwin (OSX base), as well as Windows 98(and CE too, as you so arrogantly pointed out...) I was not implying that the game should run under one of these OSs on the xbox, but that the xbox would be capable of handling a port of this type. The Quake 3 engine and a good portion of arena have already been ported and are playable online. It even has support for mods.
So excuse me for not being a programmer. You obviously are. I can tell from your info-filled post... Actually, it was more like several attempts at being an asshole. "No" is a great response. It's one of my favorites.
Still, I would like to hear it from someone who seems slightly knowledgeable in the subject.
Darwin and OSX share SOME of sourcebase, but are NOT the same, not even close, OSX = preety icons, dock and dashboard, darwin = UNIX cli This is how your "OSX on XBOX" looks like:
http://franz.smartxx.com/darwin/"Windows 98 on XBOX", sure, same as on PSP (PSP = bosh, xbox = qemu)
"But please be aware, there are some mods that will run fine whilst others won't run at all. Unfortunately this is due to limitations in the Xbox hardware (basically it's a very tight squeeze trying to get Quake 3 to run at all using 64MB)"
Tremulous goes down to 12 fps because of particle system on 2GHZ 512MB systems with dedicated GF card.
Again NO.
>dont give rasz too much credit, he is just an evil spammer and often a
>blithering idiot
so how many lines of code did YOU contribute to Trem? Yep thats what I though.
