The SinIx Lab (Beta Two)
When i make it big enough, it will be Lab - Complex

Inpired by the sirius complex. Not much else to say. I know it sucks. I need some feedback for later Betas

I feel like giving only one screenie. i would of made the jumppad have particles, but it was viewable through the thin grounds. This is the most detailed part in the map. And someone who makes 10 minuite crap maps says "omg you suck bad textures and lighting...." and crap like that. Im remaking his "best" map with more detail. (his map is Ambush1)

its like 640x460 or something... Ill check

EDIT: 640 x 480. i dont want to risk going higher because when my friend changed it formy other friend, trem would no longer open.

Yeah cause he changed it too high. Try 1024 x 768. I bet your screen is not bigger than that.

Also, there is only one exit on alien base. Lights are probably most important to fix.

the textures are there... they might be in pure format though.... still it's a good try swamp, here are some suggestions

1.walls shouldn't be flat, there should always be something defining the wall( instead of just different textures)
2. try to use textures that fit properly and look the way you want them to(And don't overuse textures or too many textures that don't match)
3.try to have multiple pats to the base, and pre-plan your layout to the map before mapping it (you can aalways cange things as you go, i know i always do.)
4.lighting should be well defined and in the correct place, you have random lighting that is overbright, so you should tone it down and use shaders to give it a special feel.


other than that try things out and develop your own style of mapping.

No proper lights - crapmap for me. Sorry, but...
Also a lot of other things to fix there. For example one-exit alien base. Seriously, its not funny. A lot of articles about common errors and basics of mapping (even under trem). Read them and try rebuild your map a bit.

My feedback on your map.

You're eager to map, but you still need more learning of mapping. Here is some tutorials and such, spend some time and patience. Let me give my basic steps to learn mapping.

Start from the basics, the construction of map. Once learned, study or imagine, how the halls, rooms or areas affect the gameplay, depending on game. Final step, learn the texture work, and other fine aspects of mapping (like lights, func_train or particles.)

That was bit offtopic. But to map.
As I want always to be straight, short and honest in my words, I say your map is... horrible. Yeah. It has its uses, but... It just doesn't fit so well for other maps in this category. It is just as the others say.
But don't let this reply to depress you. I have full confidence, and have some sort feeling, that you can make awesome map some day. :) But you just need more practice and similar stuff. Even I am doing this all time. And it takes me too long... lol.

Btw DraZiloX: I think you got something missing. I don't got missing textures. :P
