I'd like to suggest a new loop for the main menu. It's only a ~9 second loop, but I can create a longer one if desired.

Here's it's current home:

The first thing that struck me about tremulous was the sing-songy theme behind the main menu; it seems out of place on an Alien-esque game like this. I figured something a little more suspenseful would be appropriate, but that's just me.

The current theme tune is great. I feel it captures the atmosphere perfectly personally.

Not being funny, but yours just er doesnt? And I cant start singing "BWWWEeeeeeeeem bwwaaaaaaarm! buh, Bewweeeeeem bwwwooooooorm" whenever I load up the game if you change the music  :overmind:

MPD support
« Reply #6 on: July 30, 2006, 10:17:54 pm »
I think that the music at least could get some suggestions for something new. It isn't that hard to make a place you could switch between different themes also.

But the coolest would be mp3 and even better MPC support. I'll try to make a hack to implement MPD to the linux version. If there is somebody that have suggestions how this could work plz tell me. I'm thinking on put it in the console (/mpd play /mpd next and so on).

I don't think it'd be very hard to implement OGG support, which is at least as good as MP3. Then you'd be able to include a whole song, and the quick loop wouldn't be necessary.

For example, like this. (This link will only be active for the rest of the day as it is hosted on one of my home web servers).

I thought so too. So why is there a 13-second raw loop for the title music? :P

Uh, yes, I thought that much was obvious. But OGG files are as small or smaller than MP3s, so they'd be much less restrictive in that sense. That's the point I was trying to make.

Which one are you talking about? The one linked on this forum is the one I made, not the one in-game.
