I don't know if god is mocking me or I was just on the wrong schedule but, every since this post, almost every time I've signed on to US1 it's been brimming with passable-to-badass players.
Either way, I'm glad I got to play some Trem!
Dude, hardcore gamers who play only for good gfx aren't hardcore gamers. They're the fucking pussies who complain about accessibility. I WANT MY GAMES EASY AND PRETTY, LIKE MY WOMEN. Those are the kids who will grow up and live off of hookers. Hardcore gamers play for gameplay and skill.
Amen, brother.
It's like nerds who claim to love Sci-Fi but can't sit through ONE episode of old Dr. Who. It's just sad because they have no idea what they're missing.
For example:
I just bought a Nomad off of somebody the other day simply because it included the game
General Chaos! For those of you not nerd-enough to remember what a Nomad was, it's a portable Sega Genesis. And one of the only real reasons to own a Genesis was
General Chaos; a game which seemed to perfectly meld Sun Tzu's
Art of War with the subtle poetry of 16-bit blood splatter.
...Like a beautiful haiku written with machine-guns.
You've been away for 3.5 months (going by forums posts here) and in that time I assume you've earned money(!) and learned real world skills(!!!), but mostly money(!!!!!) and you wonder why some people never come back? :]
That said I've been playing since 2006 and I still keep coming back to this game. I put it down to OCD and the impression I get that this world should involve a lot more shooting of aliens.
Awe shit...
I'm Mr. Fuckin' OCD, which is probably why I couldn't stay away either. Now you've got me worried.
As for the money, it's enough to pay the bills. Meaning it's enough to earn a few good hours of solid Trem before I have to hear any bitching about it, so there's that.
Also, you're absolutely right. I never get to shoot aliens in real life...
