Tremulous makes my router restart
« on: March 23, 2011, 10:20:23 pm »
Seriously. This has been going on for months now.

If I don't play tremulous for a couple of days, then play it, within half an hour my router will restart. And as long as I keep playing, it'll keep happening.

Stop playing and everything is fine. Systematically, this only happens when I'm playing Tremulous. There are always several restarts logged, for no indicated reason.

Version is 1.2 preview.

Anyone else have experience with this issue?

Getting a new server list on urbanTerror restarts my router, perhaps that is related.

Try with different firmware versions for your router. If none work, you can try your luck with its manufacturer's support, but that will most likely only make you frustrated and vow to "never again" deal with that company.
If those options don't work, you may have to use a different router (or bypass it entirely, but don't do that).

Do you have any trem-related ports forwarded?  You could try removing / adding the ports.

NAT is generally needed >_>.
And a lot of home routers won't let you disable it anyway.

Well you could always get a new mode/router.

Also, the good side is that you don't have to wait 300 seconds just to start up trem like i do.
