Unlagged's much more visually reasonable in GPP than it was in 1.1, you'll be fine with it. Leave 1.1, its community is completely broken.
Also, if for some reason you have issues with unlagged in GPP, you can turn it off client side so you can play lagged in unlagged servers.
If you're going to throw unlagged into the "killed the game" argument, you might as well get your head out of the clouds by the way. Back in 1.1, arguing about unlagged is what killed the chances of the game having much of a larger clan scene than it did. In any case, don't overrate a configuration just because you favor it. I remember it wasn't all that hard to play unlagged for months and then go to a lagged Euro server and play just fine amongst eVo members when eVo was in its prime. There's nothing that hard about it, it generally gets your aim a very slight amount better than someone who plays unlagged, but you don't learn how to dodge nearly as well as an unlagged player might. All the above doesn't mean much though so long as you give up the dead version and come to the one with potential, even if the segment of the community for GPP isn't anything to be impressed by yet.
