Play More Tremulous: A Tremulous 1.2 Beta Frag Video

Go to 1:17 to skip intro. The "original" resolution offers the best quality on YT.

Watch in the "original" resolution instead of 1080p if you have a fast internet connection and a good computer - this will stream at 2K (i.e., 2048x1152), and the quality will improve a lot even if your display resolution is less than 2K because YouTube encodes 2K videos at a much higher bit rate.

The source resolution is 720p; I upscaled the YouTube upload to 2K to force YouTube to encode that at a higher bit rate. This downloadable mp4 looks much smoother because it is encoded at 60fps instead of YouTube's 30fps.

Most footage was recorded from December 2009 to May 2010 on the HSP Tremulous 1.2 beta server at hsp.hk, with updates going from GPP 1943 to GPP 2008.

The HUD featured in the video is my own Clean HUD (http://tremulous.net/forum/index.php?topic=13173). Chat, team overlay, and meta-information (lagometer, external time, etc.) were disabled for this video.

The style of this video is inspired by Ax1oM's Play More Warsow (hence the name Play More Tremulous): http://youtu.be/N8EIEjzEOrI. Play More Warsow remains the best frag video that I have seen.

The style of this video is inspired by Ax1oM's Play More Warsow (hence the name Play More Tremulous): http://youtu.be/N8EIEjzEOrI. Play More Warsow remains the best frag video that I have seen.

Notable differences in style include the fact that Ax1oM appears to be quite good at his chosen game, he doesn't have a minute and a half of pointless intro before anything happens(he makes a point of this), his video doesn't run for a full 15 minutes and consist of nothing but dull and unremarkable gameplay(well, it doesn't look as dull, but then i'm not terribly good at warsow), his music doesn't seem quite as random and ill fitting as yours, etc.

Go spec some other players(on eu or us1 preferably), record demos and collect their best frags, intersperse with a few of yours, make something that's vaguely interesting.
