The way I see it is this:
Everyone is treating this as though it were some horrible, abhorrent issue. Just look at the emotionally charged language; despite the innocuous definitions provided, I am quite certain that the original posters are quite aware of the connotations associated with these words.
It was a game. I think this deserves reiteration: this was a game. Parties on all sides acted with some degree or another of inappropriateness. This does not deserve the level of response that this one round of a game received.
We all acted inappropriately to some degree or another. I was the one that originally said, "Let's have a grangers vs blasters match next map." The admin did /putteam a player several times. The original poster teamkilled several times.
However, if people did not want to play this match, they should have said so. The only person who stated, explicitly, that he or she did not want to play was the original poster. I do not see a casual stroke of the F2 key as disapproval of the game, especially given that the map was ATCS. (The number of Nay votes can only be explicitly tied to a number of people not wanting to play on ATCS, which was what the vote covered--there's not a relationship between ATCS and the grangers vs blasters match.)
So chill out, people. Relax. Count to ten from twenty-seven, backwards. Pray, take a cold shower (a good, cheap way to cool off during the summer), do whatever you need to do, and then log back onto US1 to enjoy a game, because 99% of the time, this server "moderates" itself without the need for admin intervention.
Again: this was a game.
We learned our lessons. The admin will hopefully be a little more careful with his or her powers next time. The original poster will hopefully refrain from teamkilling again. And I or someone else will probably be making a grangers vs blasters mod soon, especially since I have my own server.
Last, but not least, I think there's something we're all forgetting to do. I'll put my foot forward and start off:
I apologize to Anonymous and any other players who did not enjoy the Granger vs Blaster match or felt repressed by it. I instigated the Granger vs Blaster match, and I contributed to the chaos that happened later. The TK of the original poster was likely accidental, and I overreacted, which lead to a kick. I had meant the game in jest, but it quickly spiraled down from there.
Let's move on, people! It happened. I doubt it'll happen again. Let's go enjoy this game instead of squabbling about it.
