please release tremulous 1.2 alpha(or gpp alpha) with new models/effects.

My idea is simple, would be interesting to release a new version with all the material is ready(like in urbanterror HD, they will releasing new versions as soon as things get ready, so everyone can help pointing out bugs and suggesting ideas).

a alpha version can be good, so people will stop complaining(How long have to we wait? or, more 5 years? we need the new models.. and bla bla bla).

and with the new stuffs in alpha, I believe that many will migrate to the gpp, its good to help in game balance, in the same way, we can test the new models : )

unless somebody is expecting a supernatural bloom of tremulous players on the exact release of 1.2 - after an agressive marketing storm making all 2011ish jaws drop - i also see no reason why not to do something like continously dripping new things into the gameplay.

i mean, there are ~300 people playing this game, 50 at once peaktime, shooting bricks with brick guns on bricks maps for almost a decade, cmon.

imho if the new models would be showing up step by step, there would be more interest on the game, at least from the old 1.1 base (and the players who abandoned it). we could at least say "look at this new model" instead of listening to bitching about new rules and (eu) unlagged.

as long as i see constanly as much or more players on the unlimited bp server than both the officials combined, i wouldn't worry much about the mods. dealing with the whining wouldn't be harder than dealing with this current one...

i think the gpp testing community is already a proper representation of a tremulous playerbase, with no less asshole ratio than the 1.1.
with more people coming, i would be actually able to find people to play with almost anytime a day, wouldn't it be so fantastic? :-) not to mention to actually choose from servers (which, like in the case of ddos gpp mod, would've been useful for testing different adjustments at the same time).

people looking over my shoulder are constantly worried about me that i play the same prehistoric looking game for long years.

What sounds simple and how hard it is to carry out are two different things.
Understand Blender, get good, model stuff, texture it and animate it.
Then you've got new assets.......
