I am trying to make a server, since I cannot make a dedicated one I do not know why, I am trying to make a non- dedicated server.  If I wanted to invite my clan mates which IP address would I give out to them.  Also would I be an admin on that or not.

your external (Internet) IP address.
but i doubt that they would be able to connect to your non-dedicated server if your dedicated server isn't visible in the master server list. you probably need to open a port in your router's settings.

to surely make yourself an admin, type the following in the console:

/setlevel 0 5

(admin functionality is provided with GPP).

Also, if you would like to show others how to use Google Search...

I wish there was one of these for the tremulous forums, because at the top of the very same subforum you posted in are 3 different stickies on How To Make A Server.

I can't help but feel you were put off by the large number of words. Don't be afraid to read!

we need details. did the instructions destroy your hard-drive? or did you get the following error message?

Error: there is NO U.

This is good advice in general for when something goes wrong. If your whole post basically says "it didn't work", don't even bother posting it.
