bannable offense?

notice where the shots from the turret are coming from? is this consider building outside of the map, or exploiting a bug of some sort?

this is a bug.
the turrit is on top of the box, just its draw below.
most servers see this as exploiting a bug, and do kick for this.
banning is a bit hasr for one-off offenders

Yeah the actual turret (and the source of the bullets, too) is on top of the geometry, but the model is at ground level. So, although it is a bug, it's only an advantage if the other team doesn't understand what it is. Basically when you see one of those, jump on top of it and you'll hit the hitbox, and just kill it.

No, it should not be bannable because the drop-through bug gives no advantage if the other team knows how to counter the bug. Besides, the bug occurs in too many places.

In contrast, the "build outside the map" bug gives a huge advantage even when the other team knows how to counter it. Therefore it is bannable.

Drop through bug is annoying, but baning for that would probably make some base locations nearly impossible to defend since the normal turret spots are affected by the bug.
urphy's rules of combat
8 ) Teamwork is essential; it gives the enemy someone else to shoot at.
18 ) Make it too tough for the enemy to get in and you can't get out.

I know of the bug in tremor, just saw it. Everyone typed /kill but some idiot placed a egg under the sewers so that everyone respawns there. Finally we destroyed the egg but that idiot didn't want to typ /kill so we tried to kick him but the humans just where annoying and every vote to kick him or restart the map failed. Eventually he was killed by a nade.
