So you state that Tremulous isn't dead, and yet you want to have a final match on it.

He's using american standards or whatever it's called
ah, he's probably only inviting players from his country.
the format is not American, btw.

and yes, dev/hc, the way he wrote it is properly formatted.  just not formatted to your expectations.  i'm sure you can see from the map, more places use his formatting than ours.

this is also not the first time i've called you on date formatting.  please learn from your mistakes in the future, i may not always be around to enlighten you.

irrelevant. what's relevant is:
  • how well-developed a standard format is (with respect to useful properties), and
  • how many people use the format.
in both of these, YYYY-MM-DD dominates.

it is, however, the Nth time (out of N calls) that you're WRONG about formatting.

dafaq?
Only use I can think of is sorting out files. Indeed, YYYY-MM-DD is the most useful in this case, but is that it?

In Australia, we just say from the mose precise to the least precise details, such as "It is now 9:23, on the Thirteenth of February, 1992" while lil'mericans or whatever use "It is now 9:23 AM, February the thirteenth, 1992" but for business efficency in terms of sorting, it's just the reverse of the Australian Standards: "It is 1992, February the thirteenth, 09:23."

However, I've never seen "13.02.92" written in my country (as assumed by the wiki,) we use the latter example they provided ("13/2/92" without prefixed '0's unless entering into a database).

One annoying thing though, is that practically 99% of our computers use american standards by default (without any other options for most cases), so when viewing files by date, I'm still not used to searching for the middle column for date.

mose precise
wtf is "mose precise"? do you mean least significant, ie., second fractions (least significant), seconds, minutes, hours, days, months, years (most significant)? in that case,

9:23
is the 10th minute of the 23rd hour?

look at the map.  not even as many people primarily use imperial measurements as use our date formatting.  the united states does not house most people in the world.  even china's format is outnumbered.  as the facts do not support your argument, it is irrelevant.  you are wrong about the rightness of the date format you prefer.

  • your misinterpretation.

this statement would be correct if i were stating it to you.  the fact is, most of the world, both geographically and by population, uses the month-day-year format for dates in everyday use.

correct. it is understood that the class of middle-endian formats (day, then month, then year; including D/M/YYYY, DD.MM.YYYY, etc.) is a lot more popular than the class of all other formats (including YYYY-MM-DD, MM/DD/YYYY, etc.). However, the most popular format is YYYY-MM-DD, followed roughly by DD/MM/YYYY.

Just so you know, this topic is over. You already argued about this.

Also, this topic is over (referring to the actual topic), because the date has past. One person arrived, that's it I guess.
