Strange problem with backport
« on: November 09, 2006, 10:47:22 pm »
Tjw's old backport worked fine for me, but executing his new one under winxp gives me the following error message:
"only a part of readprocessmemory or writeporcessmemory could be completed"

Googling suggests this has something to do with running programs off dvd rom drives, and I have no clue how that's connected to backport. Is there a way I can get the old version? I need a guid which I lost after reinstalling trem, and my admin rights can not be reset until I have a guid.

Based on WriteProcessMemory, another program may be trying to insert code/data into Tremulous and is failing. You might want to start your computer in safe mode and run a thorough virus scan.

Have you tried reinstalling trem and did you check the hash of the exe you got off tjw?  could just be a dud file somewhere.
Any maps not in the MG repo?  Email me or come to irc.freenode.net/#mg.
