tried that, didn't work
what I did, was that in a map, there are two corners. And in each corners, there's reactor with tenelodes and om with eggs. Each of them has turrets and tubes, trappers, and hives in each opposing sides.

What I learned: Those swarms in the hive is very persistant, they chase you for a long time... In Arachnid, near the alien base with the hallway near, I ran to the tunnel, and when i looked back, the swarms were still chasing me and i died =/

try running away from them in ATCS they chased me from the centre to the human base and killed me 'cause some noob covered the whole entrance with turrets

Run in small circles. After some time, they get bored and leave. Yes you can do that in the middle of the alien base if needed.

Tip with hive swarms: don't look back.  Run until something else kills you.  Its not impossible to outrun the damn things.

Remember this, NOTHING is impossible.  But it is NOT very likely.

Moved their base somewhere, left one tele-node behind, aliens moved the OM over there, and then killed the new base.
