Instead of saying "it didn't work", saying where you had problems would be much more useful.

go to http://tjw.org/tremulous/SETUP . follow the directions EXACTLY. if you get "G_ParseSpawnVars found when expecting {", that means you didn't follow the directions. (i'm assuming that you're trying to set up a server, if you're trying to set up his backport client, then you should make that a bit more clear, if you aren't, then you should make that more clear too)

Ooooooo.... here we go
(Thank you, tjw, for having different numbers of steps for the different platforms so I don't have to ask.)
You change directories using the "cd" command. So if you put tremded.exe at C:\Program Files\Tremulous\tremded.exe, you would enter at the command prompt

cd C:\Program Files\Tremulous\

and the prompt should change to

C:\Program Files\Tremulous\>

then run tremded using the exact string below "run it:". So before pressing enter, the line should look something like

C:\Program Files\Tremulous\> tremded.exe +set dedicated 2 +exec settings.cfg

I don't know what causes this error, but I recognise the ERROR: C_ParseSpawnVars: found when expecting { bit, so  it must be on the forums somewhere.

http://tjw.org/tremulous/SETUP you didn't follow the directions (i'm getting really tired of telling people about this, so i'm tempted to not tell you which step you got wrong... but for some reason i'm still gonna do it: you didn't do step 2 right)

Sry for the delay, but that problem ONLY persists if you do NOT have the correct game.qvm in the correct directory. TJW's site explains how to do it, read it
