Saying multiple things with the same bind
« on: November 18, 2006, 12:36:15 pm »
What I'm going for here is something that will let you bind multiple things to the same key, like 2 "say" commands.

Come on, get on with it!         and,
!allready           with the same key.

Anyone have an idea how to do this?

put a ; between commands.
Any maps not in the MG repo?  Email me or come to irc.freenode.net/#mg.

No, use the 'vstr' command. Google is your friend.

Alt+F4 is the way.

PLS there are already too much people flooding with their useless binds we dont need theses binds to take even more space. Moreover, the say command accept pretty large inputs...I dont see why you would need more than one at a time. If you hope people will read more than 10 words at once while fighting you re seriously mistaking.

I tried that. In the console I did:

/bind f8 say Come on, get on with it!; say !allready

When I press enter, I say !allready, then whenever I press f8 I get Come on, get on with it! Does it matter that I'm using a mac? I know we have problems with selecting jetpacks and grenades, (I have binds for those) But this seems relatively unrelated. Should I put a space before and after, just before, just after, or not at all? I've tried all of them and none seem to work.

EDIT:@semp: I'm making this bind for after the game. I say "Come on, get on with it!" Then, !allready, since !allready only works at the beginning of a message.

Your idea makes no sense to me.
Why ask for the players the get ready when you plan on forcing them to be ready in the first place?

LOL

I had this question myself a while ago. But i figured it out.
Using the ' ; ' symbol is the right way to do it.
But you also need to use the quote symbols. the DOUBLE ones. ( " )

Example: /bind  a "!allready ;!mute glun"

If you forget the quotes, and type in this:

/bind a !allready !mute glun

This is what you would get:
Bind "!already" succesful
(Cebt)Glunnator has been muted

So just don't forget the quotes :)

I used this to make a 'muteall' button. Took a hell of a long time ;)
(/bind KP_uparrow "!mute 1 ;!mute 2 ;!mute 3 etc etc" ^^ )
