having a gun in your hand isn't only eye-candy. it's an usefeul indicator of what you can do. As it can be dangerous to press fire and not remembering you have a missele launcher and not a shotgun...

anyway, i never know what alien i am
of course i'm a new player, and i just passed my eyes on the pdf manual. but i'm playing a lot, seeing a lot of other players do especifics things with specifics kinds of alien, and i never know what the specimens i am at the moment even is.

even after reading the manual i can't associate which one is the basilisk and the marauders when i see players passing by.

showing the paws walking/attacking or the heading moving in Z axis for an bite attack would be perfect for new players to associate what they are and the capabilities of their teamates.

i can help out with models and textures (can contribute with code too, but you'd rather not

when you see a rifle you know it shoots bullets, right?
so whats so hard about remembering that marauder icon on your down right corner of the screen means jumping and slashing?

I agree you should be able to see your claws and pinchers and stuff on your screen. That would be cool. But I don't play with my gun showing, so I wouldn't even see it and it might block too much of the screen.
