Medieval Tremulous

I had this really amusing idea for a mod I think someone should make
Everything is medieval. Instead of turrets, you have fixed artillery (such as ballistas or catapults). Instead of guns, humans get knives and swords, the type and range depending on the weapon (e.g., blaster would be a small knife).

Humans get various types of medieval armor. Helmets are metal. larmour is chainmail. bsuit is full body metal armor.

Aliens have really big teeth and are a bit slow, and because it might be unfair otherwise, there is no such thing as stamina.

All of the buildables, weapons, and upgrades would have to be replaced. Most of the models would have to be replaced or adjusted. The sounds and default HUD would have to be replaced. A lot of work would have to go into balancing the aliens.

But I think it would be fun :-)

No, it's not what I want. lol
It takes place in the future, not the past.
The HUD isn't convincing enough.
The world looks too much like a fantasy world, not very real. By comparison, Q3 is ultra-realistic.
It can be played like an RTS, with a HUD just like in Starcraft or Warcraft.
You're fighting against the "beast horde". Need I say more?

Plus, I don't want projectile weapons. I want exclusively melee weapons :-)

For medieval mod, the reactor could be the King's throne and armory could be the blacksmith's place and med could be a pub(?) or a healing place.

yeah, i've tried a variety of games, and FPS's are definitely my favorite. seeing a little character throw a ball of fire just doesn't appeal to me. seeing a rifle pound bullets into an alien from close up is much more satisfying.

Medival isn't so dumb, dear. Just read some my ideas:

Humans Team:
Weapons:
Lot of throwing stuff - axes, spears, knifes, shurikens (!) etc - lot of damage, small amount of ammo.
Shooting stuff: crossbow, bow.
Melee weapons: swords, and throwing stuff would be useful too.
Alternate weapon: miserycord.

Armors:
Light Armor: chainmail.
Helmet : helmet.
Battlesuit : full armor.

Buildings:
Reactor : Christian altar.
Armory : Blacksmith workshop.
Medistation : small baptismal font.
Defence Computer : book shelf.
MG Turret : ballista, sth like that.
Tesla Coil :  no idea, some kind of ballista, or sth like that
Repeater : small Christian altar.

Items:

Shield would be useful. While shielding no possiblity of attack.
Grenade : some kind of medieval bomb, or sth like that.
Medkit: small vial with holy water.
Battery pack : quiver.
Jetpack: Black ninja cape - disallows flying, allows wallwalk.  

Aliens:              
More spiderous. Less HP. Bit slowlier.
No barbs for advanced dragoon. No electrical shock for   advanced marauder.
Advanced dragoon and advanced marauder can flamethrow, like drakes.
And trapper allow more movement. No bigger changes.

People will play something that is fun rather than one that is trying to be overly accurate.
