Rename Balance Mod?

If you don't play Balance mod or don't care please ignore.

People have been asking me to rename the mod to something that better reflects what it is. The mod is called Balance Mod for historical reasons because it started out as an attempt to Balance Tremulous gameplay but somewhere in the middle ended up adding a lot of enhancements.

Now it is rather confusing. Especially with "Balance Lite" which doesnt affect game balance at all.

Thoughts? Suggestions? :-?

Maaayyyybeee.... I havent had the opportunity to play it as much as I wanted. I noticed that unlagged screws up the balance worse than anything I added myself... but cumulatively tips it towards humans pretty far. Tweaking to fix it now.

The mod changes the game pace too so ... it does way more than change the balance. :-?

It should be changed because the point isn't to balance Tremulous (anymore).

It's a misleading title for a mod.

How about the fast releases that are incompatible to each other? Check the Forum there are ppl asking what they should do if they play on different servers with different versions...

Post complaints in the Balance thread please, not here.

You can download as many different PK3s as you want, I have versions 1-16 in my balance folder! As long as the server you connect to is pure and properly configured it will use the correct Balance pk3.

Balance mod can not be downloaded without cl_allowDownload 1 which, if you enable, means you are expecting a download and are not being "forced" into one.

Starting with revision 16, you cannot start a server with the Balance mod pk3 in base and you are warned when the folder name isn't 'balance'. This means that when you connect to a properly configured server, Balance mod can only download to its own special folder and nowhere else -- it does not affect base and other mods.

I say risujin's mod. It is yours after all, and it would be good for people to know who you are when you connect to a balance mod server. This way, you wont get kicked becasue you are trying to stop someone from skydivivng at transit that also happens to be an admin. XD

i wonder, could you put in the code something that prevents a perseon from being kicked/banned? so when an admin tries to kick you from a balance mod (Risujin's Mod!) server, it won't work.
