For both classes:
Use binds. They have saved my life twice during my brief experience with this game. Plus it looks leet to evolve in midair or to buy a bunch of things in less than two seconds.
If you've died five times in a row against the same person/group of people, stop attacking. Chances are they're better than you. Start camping.
Unless you're an extremely good player or with a bunch of your teammates, don't take on anything that's above your level IE Dretch vs. Battlesuit or Rifle vs. Tyrant.
If your health is below 30% and there's a bunch of enemies that you know have a high chance of killing you, DON'T RUN! Unless you see your teammates coming to save you, or you found a nice hiding spot, never ever retreat. It's always better to die fighting than to die running.
ALWAYS CHASE. This is the single most important lesson to learn if you want to be a good player. Sure you'll feed during your first couple games, but after you get experienced, you'll be taking down goons in no time. The biggest mistake people make is thinking 'Oh, I'll die if I go after him/it'.
For aliens:
If you just started, use dretch and dragoons. If you have enough evolution points, become a tyrant. Maras and Basilisks are for the players that have practiced a long time with them. You'll be wasting your evo's if you try to take down experienced players with aliens that require lots of practice and skill to get good at.
Weave left and right when attack. Jump alot, regardless of what you are.
Aim for headshots or chestshots. Retreat only if your health is at around 60% and you know you can't kill the human.
Think about what the attacker will do. For instance, when I'm a dretch and I see a human with a lucifer cannon, chances are that he'll shoot the ground the second I get close (in hopes of killing me through splash damage), so I pretend to be walking straight towards him, and then I sharply turn left/right at the last moment. He usually fires right then, and I immediately go in for a quick headshot. Rinse, lather, repeat and you've a dead human.
When attacking the human base, just go in and cause havoc. You don't have to kill anyone.
Never attack a flamer or lucifer directly. That's synonymous with suicide.
Use the walls.
For humans:
Jump. It saves lives.
Press 'x' to sprint. It saves lives.
If a dragoon had just leaped into your base and gotten hit by you/your teammates/some turrets, and now it's running away, CHASE IT CHASE IT CHASE IT. A dragoon has 200 health. Even assuming that you have the standard weapon (the rifle), your chances of killing the dragoon is pretty high. The rifle does 5 dmg per bullet. There's 30 bullets in a clip. That means to kill a fully healed dragoon would take 40 bullets. If a goon was hit alot already, just sprint after it, and usually half a clip will put it down.
Know your map. There are lots of places where aliens just pop up.
Don't use a mass driver if you're inexperienced with it. It'll just be a waste of creds.
