cos sometimes u get people who just dont miss with a md.

people (like pinkyandthebrain) i believe use something called "unlagged". not sure what it does exactly, but they hit pretty good with the md.

you can tell if they are aimbotting if when you spec em, they appear to hit every shot (excluding md, in which case they may be using the above something)

Yeah, spec 'em.

If you see them track enemies before they are visible, "snap" onto enemies, etc, they are probably botting.

Make sure you record a demo.

There isn't a way to tell. they are using it, or not. If theres the slightest doubt in your mind, then they aren't using it.

What he said. When you play on most servers nowdays, you're using it too. What it means is that people no longer have to "lead" their shots with driver, shotty, mgun, etc. So suddenly when it went into play, a lot of people who have mediocre ping and the capability for good aim-n-twitch, but not path prediction, became capable.

The only weapons I can use with any degree of effectiveness with high ping are shotgun and mdriver.

i get a lot of aimbotting acusations lately.. MD is an easy weapon to use if u get use to the movements of aliens.  

this unlagged is actually screwing with it and helping at the same time.. leading my shots dont always work now but sometimes those around the corner just misses become finishing kills >D

only thing i can say is aimbotting cant match up to experience and real skill.

Here is a demo of an aimbotter.  The crappier aimbotters are very easy to identify.  If you "think" you see an aimbotter, you probably don't.

Aimbots are overrated in stealth.
They are more rare than people think.
They are also much easier to spot than people think.

I've seen one, or at least a hack, this is what I saw, speccing.

Guy with MD. He had killed me quite a few times when I was a dretch at strange angles... So I decided to spec him.

I saw my alien teammates desparatly attacking him as goons and dretches, all to be killed amazingly quickly. 2 kills made me sure of it: he's not playing right.

Shot 1: I was speccing from outside. Dretch was closing in on him from the right - about 90 degrees from the direction he was facing. BAM. Shot. Dead dretch and the hummie hadn't moved at all. Just the one shot.

Shot 2: Another hummie had joined him. a rifle, no armour. Dretch runs up to rifler and attacks. I was watching from inside. I saw as the dretch attacked nekked hummie, carefully hid BEHIND him so the aimbotter (or hacker) couldn't hit him. He did. One shot killing a dretch BEHIND another hummie.

This makes me sad.
It makes me sad to see that people don't play fair.
Of course it is to be expected that there are unfair people out there, but this guy used to be a respectful honest guy in my eyes.

The way this world is built hurts me deeper than any sword possibly could.
