What does this alien of your's do? Every alien so far seem to have some speciality.
Idea:
No Wallwalk (i can't imagine four legged alien to crawl on walls).
Jump needs to be hold to jump but has charge like dragoon pounce but goes directly upwards EXTREMELY HIGH(used to take out jetpackers when you can't reach them with goons).
Primary attack basic clawing with damage pit more than current marauderer.
Secondary needs to be charged by holding it for while then would do extreme damge when released on maxium charge (instant kill from head) but takes time to do same again so missing is not an option if you want to survive after. Uses the tentacle jaws and has bit longer range than claws.


Pretty good, although i wouldn't recommended the tentacle thing, maybe for the adv version of it.

Yeah but then it's clew jaw would be useless on non-adv. Mibie as adv version it could eat (gain life on hit) when ever it uses the tentacle jaw attack. the cost could be 4 evos for normal and 5 for adv since we are missing alien with that cost.

i think that it should be mote like a basi.  that can jump like a mar.  exsept twice as high.  i also think it should be agest jet pack people but use gas that can go up to the roof and smoke em down it should only be good agest people and not stututes so make it week but quick. there should be an avaced vertion (i know it is impractical) that can camiflac into walls

Gah... mara basi hybrid is bit too much using old ideas.
I rly want to know how Taiyo.uk desinged this if he even did desing any statics/abilities for it.

I think he'd keep us updated on any major progress, no need to make sensless necros just to hear that he'll get back to it sometime soon, or that he'd release it in three days.

do job, pay rent, study for degree, eat, sleep, etc...

Unfortunately modeling comes after all that. I haven't abandoned the model, it's just going rather slowly. I've started work on it's feeding tentacle* - I'll post updates when there's something to show.

* Imagine a tentacle with claws at the end that shoots out from it's mouth and rips people's hearts out.

Can I point out that all the aliens have 6 leg-like things and 2 arm/mandible/claw-like things?

Hmm.... Design process... I figured that since all aliens have six legs and some have smaller limbs at the front, this one should stick to this pattern, else it'll look out of place in the game. The two front limbs in this case are the lower jaw when folded (I like things that have explosive gorespamming mouths like Geiger's alien or the vampires in Blade), and as for the spiky tentacle, well... you can't have a mouth that opens like that without something that shoots out of it and eviscerates you. Overall it's about the size of a goon, available at S3, 4 evos, 300HP, primary attack is to grab humans, immobilising those that aren't in a BS, and ripping bits off of them using it's tentacle, a long slow process with lots of squishy bone crunching noises. 70HP/s to an unarmoured human. Tentacle whip as a secondary attack, no pounce, similar jumping height to a goon. Of course these statistics/abilities will change as needed during the play testing period.

It would need to be pretty fast:

Its big, and all the other big Aliens (tyrant, goons) have pounce and trample to get the f*** outta there when needed.

This'll just lumber along getting totally owned.
Similiarly you need good handling,otherwise it'll be like a Blimp with Jet Engines.

I personally am glad this was necro'd as it's interested me. I might try out some modeling.

It seems as though the 6 legs, 2 'arms' and several eyes are the most common features. I think it fits all those criteria. Now if you could just make it more different than just the jaw (which isn't obvious from a distance). Maybe it's enough to change the colour, but a sorta new shape would be nice.

Er....
This should follow the very obvious evolution pattens of the Alien Species, if you look at them in ascending order side on in a line, you can see how they are changing their body shape till the Tyrant's "S" shape, you should fit your alien in somehwere their, like the msiing link.

I'm really not liking how long those mandibles are. The simply extend too far out from the upper jaw.

Well, they're just in the open position so I could work on them. They'll normally be closed (folded in) like in the previous images. It is intended that the primary attack is to grab humans with the mandibles. Shot of an older version of the model with the mandibles in the closed position:

its a very good model...but i cant see anything that makes it distinct from the other ones - it looks like a cross between a maruader and a goon. maybe add a scorpion like stinger thing/  ;D
