Well actually it depends on what is happening in the game, what the situation is at my base, what the situation is at their base and what the situation is with my funds.

Shotgun. One person goes forward with one weapon and if you stay behind, dretches will jump by and right in front of you where it's easy shots.

I would have to say Shotgun and Mass Driver would have it battling out for me.  Most likely Mass Driver, because I rather the 1 hit dretch kills, and I'm usually better with it, but for all around Shotgun is better IMO.

at S1 i use shotgun
at S2 i use a combination of shotgun and chaingun
at S3 i use chaingun

overall i love chainguns, cause i can pretty much own any tyrant at a 1vs1 if i have a bsuit and chaingun

Naked hum with an MG running wildly amidst a swarm of Tyrants on FF servers.  Afterall, if you can't be a tyrant, why not get one to kill one for you?

I miss the good 'ole days of trem revisions past when you could jump on top of an alien and keep him nailed to the floor as you rode him like a little horsey.  I always wanted to jump off that mid platform on ATCS onto a tyrants head and watch the chaos ensue as other tyrants slashed at him.  Just weren't enough players back then to do it.  Bring that feature back please.

shotgun , chaingun > lisks, marauders, dragoons
bsuit , chaingun > tyrant

but of course, bring a buddy when taking down tyrants
when there's more than one shotgun / chaingun being emptied the damage output is nuts

If so, I'd still use the face.. Or claw.

But if I'm human I can't help but love the rifle. The best things in life are free. Even against tyrants it's good for quickly finishing them off.

I, personally, find that the shotgun is ultra L33T at killing during S1 and S2.
But by the time S3 comes along, if you are caught with your little shottie out of your base, you are quite literally, mincemeat.
So for those dangerous times, for defending, I use a Lasgun, and for leaving the base, nothing quite like a good ol' chaingun !

Overall though, I'd say I prefer the shotgun most.
I use it most of the time, and there are few things more satisfying than shotgunning a goon.

I wouldn't say its noobish, but a bit extreme. A good dretch / Goon can kill you quite easily, and then you wasted 400 Credits.
