I got all the AD&D and 3rd edition core rulebooks but I've never played (stupid backwater town). I still think the Alternity game mechanic is superior to any other system, especially the D20 system. Just now getting interested in some White Wolf stuff, gonna try to find some for cheap.

Stormbringer, 4'th edition.

They stopped making the RPG/FRP-Game several years ago, but you can still get a copy of the rulebook on ebay. They remade the game into "Elric!", but that game system is gayer than the more original system.

By "White Wolf", do you mean "Elric"? Because in Michael Moorcock's books, elric was an albino melnibonian with a kickass demon sword. Forged by the very lords of choas themselves (sword is named stormbringer). Since Elric was an albino, and his sword was sentient and killed all his friends, he was nicknamed the "White Wolf, Kinslayer, etc". If you are referring to this, you HAVE to buy the forth edition.

I dont like D&D, the people never die and it takes forever to develop your character. In Stormbringer, you start out aply equipped to die in the next few missions. Because your so frail, it's so fun.

Me and my brother are in the works of creating a pen-and-paper RPG system that will surpass all the rollplaying games we play now. You know me, I get original ideas, warp them, and try to create something spectacular.

White Wolf as in White Wolf. World of Darkness settings, such as Vampire, Mage, Werewolf, Changeling, Wraith, etc.

And if you ever had time to start up an IRC RPG, I'd be dying to join, as I really don't have any real life opportunity to play.

And have you heard of Alternity before? Not many people have, I've found, and TSR's not bothering now with anything but D&D 3e. The core rules mechanic could really be applied to any setting, and I'm quite fond if it for being simple (easy to ad hoc stuff), and allowing pretty much anything to be done if players choose to have an extremely low chance of success. D&D always just said, "you can't do this, unless you want to break the rules". Bleh

I mess around with Werewolf: The Apocolypse some. I like the settings of the White Wolf games. Kind of a modern, heavy industrial world kind of thing.

Werewolf is part of the same universe like Vampire (i mean pen and paper of course)
I'm playing vampire with a very skilled gamemaster in a funny group.
We managed to kill a werewolf in our first night..without silver bullets.
My character is a vietnam veteran who was turned into a vampire and then burried alive by a very evil vampire clan freak(no idea wich clan.. he was able to let his bones grow to long spikes and my poor char had to watch him kill the whole unit)20 years later the grave was opened and i managed to escape..but i cant leave the coffin behind
and have to carry it around when i have to change my place to sleep.(btw, i called him Timbo *g*)
The last time we played i was almost out of blood and lost control when i tried to drink
i took ALL the blood from a prostitude and had to shoot her *cough* employer afterwards(he had a shotgun and saw me and the dead (empty) woman)
next one to die was the wife of the shotgun-dude, she saw me kill her husband from a window above and hit me in the shoulder with a heavy pistol( I shot was her down before i hit the ground..but she was not quite dead)
Another character of my group arrived when i tried to throw the bodies back into the apartment they just left.
He helped me and i had to cut the legs of to make her fit into the two bags i found  in one of the rooms, while my partner searched clean clothes without holes through the shoulder...
He also killed the woman i had hit in head and shoulder before, she was on the way to the telephone..a bit cruel to break the neck of a helpless woman(i doubt she would have reached it with those heavy wounds), but we had no time to waste.
Friends of the man with the shotgun but now without head were on their way to us.
When they arrived i had finnished my terrible work and we escaped to the roof, killed their driver, took the car and burned car and bloodless woman some minutes later.

I only wanted some blood and all i got was trouble...the healing of my wound cost 4 bloodpoints and to improve my aim to be sure to kill the woman with the magnum i payed 2 more..
after all I had 2 bloodpoints LESS than before...
Vampire is fun..ok, sometimes you have to be very cruel to stay alive, but who cares about the lives of a few stupid mortals =)

I have never played any of the other white wolf systems, just dabbled in W:TA.

We need to start up White Wolf IRC channel.
That would rock.

Heh, lamerondeun. Lamer. Hehe...heh...heh...

sentinel, definately.
technically, wraith is taken, but it would be a great name for a click, stealthy droid.
lick.

What about "Menetekel" for the tallest of the droids?
A word for misery and desaster (from a best seller called "The Bible".. or something like that)
it was one of the four words god wrote on a wall in babylon before destroyed the attempts of building that super-high tower

I find that symbolism behind it quite fitting...
think about it

ahhh the garou, funny wolfies, mean and such
i had a friend that did a campaign with some of his friends, he combined vampire, mage, and regular ww system, and added in mechs for the humans but mainly garou...it turned out *really* bad lol

i never played it or d&D, but ive gotten so much descriptions and tales and things in so much detial, ive all but played and gotten a webcam link to people playing (only for me to watch, maybe mumble some things)

larps are where the real fun of rp'ing is, live action role playing games, the good ones are great, w hether you can act and improv or not (within the character your playing that is), and since there usually is no script, makes for cool things, especially with costuming and the foam weapons that you can beat people with without injuring them, well thats not always true...the good ones though, are safe and wont hurt even if you bring most of your weight down with a strike

larps are fun, but dont get into out of game politics and problems, thats where everything gets bad
