If you think its funny I seriously suggest you look into other games with no clan systems built into the game and you'll be surprised how many other games use ranking systems based just on what you are talking about - clans ranking other clans. Each list individually should be taken with a grain of salt, but when you look at everyone's ranks as a whole you can get a good idea who is supposed to fit where. Since the ladder systems haven't worked out as of yet word of mouth on how clans do in matches and scirms is the best way to judge where certain clans should be ranked.

Also I was anticipating this thread never dying, as the clan world is always changing, and their are always clan dying and new clans taking their place.

Anyway, here is my list, not putting anyone at 5 atm.

1. SGA
2. OPP
3. CU
4. AoD
5.

XiL. is easily in there, but I don't know about OPP at #2.

I only have to say this, Since the old zilla days only clan we ever had good competition with is SGA. When we played sga last we split the rounds.

Most other clans its an onslaught. So my new list(in no order is)

OPP
SGA

However I see alot of potential in other clans. Among them, CU. Ofcourse Xil, but small clans like that dont seem to work out. Also some of its members have been in other failed small clans.

Hope i am wrong about xil, if they are all super active it should be fine.

P.S. Dont put AoD above us, we played them and won.

If the only standard on which a clan is judged is clan matches, I don't suppose we belong in the top five at all. This is the mistake I recently made, trying to push my clan to the top through practices and repeated scrims. Then I was awoken to the fact that I can either have a leet clan full of jerks, or I can have a clan full of fairly good players that are friendly and respectable.

I no longer have any desire to be like zilla was, I hated them when they were here, and it was foolish to try and imitate their success. When your clan is based on amazing skills, you tend to let certain players push the limits. Not going to mention any names there.

Looking back on things now, I always admired T.T.O more than any other clan. Allman, Marco, Veggie, all decent players (well, Allman is decent plus ), but also the friendliest you will meet. Only CU has godly skills and a friendly attitude, but inactivity is their only weakness. No clan can ever be perfect, it seems.

I'll let you guys build the kind of clans that you desire, but as for me and mine, we're going to strive for perfecting our clan in terms of fun and kindness. You can consider AoD out of the race for top spot. I don't want it, if it means I have to change what my clan stands for to begin with.

That said, my top list of clans, based on what I think makes a good clan, and in alphabetical order:

CU
F2F
OPP
SGA (when Mani's in a good mood )

Xil is quite skilled, and Gambit's nice, but Yarou and Anger are not exactly the best role models. I used to be a fan of F5 as well, too bad they didn't stick together. =/

I agree I dont think you have to put up with asshole players just because there good.  I know i dont. Also individual skills dont affect clan matchs as much as teamwork does.  Being a individual player is cool and all and takes alot of practice and time. But being a team player takes a different kind of player.

Some of our best clan scrimmers are not the ones have the most kills in public games. When we get them in a scrim though, working with their teammates they kick ass.  You cant have a whole team of egos, when your trying to work together.

I admit I got a little defensive in this thread because of people attacking different clans, but heh what do i expect on.(tremulous.net)  I wasnt going to even post in this thread until other clan leaders started posting their own clan. I still didnt post until someone else mentioned OPP.

I think the 2 most serious clans that clan war are SGA, and OPP. Although we still are trying to setup our official match. Its tough alot of our members dont play till 9pst. But alot of sga is east coast.  If more clans were more serious and not so scared of loosing to actually play some scrims they would be better.

Which is why, I have posted on our OPP forums you can request a fun-match. Which is confidential and off the record. Like a practice.

ive found its more fun to be in a clan of inactives that i dont have to wear the tag in than it is to be in the best clan evar

It seems this paragraph stirred quite a bit of confusion with more than one or two other clan leaders. I'm not against scrims, and we will be glad to play against anyone, just expect us to be casual, and scrim when we get around to it. I'll usually want to finish the public game I'm in before moving on to a match.

I didn't mean that we were no longer going to match, I simply meant that's not what we want to be known for.

lmao, I'm in BoT and trust me, we're not the best. We have some really good players, but if you count all of the members then we're slightly above average.

I haven't been around long enough to see all of the clans. But from what I have seen, I think SGA is the best. They fight great, and 90% of the time, they're all really nice. But then again, OPP is just like that...

I don't think we will ever have a "best clan." I think we'll have some really great ones, but never a "king" so to speak.


Oh and on a side note: I would like to see BloodyDemon and Kattana VS Dima and Medic. Whether it's to see who will win or who can kill whore the best with those other players on.

this will never happen because:
1.) {SGA} doesn't do 2 vs 2
2.) bloodydemon doesn't play with unlagged
3.) kattana only likes big games
