A friendly note from Betaserv operators
« on: April 01, 2007, 06:41:44 am »
This is just a friendly little note for the Tremulous community:
If you are caught spamming on Betaserv, there will be consequences. Please don't waste your bandwidth or mine. Thank you.

looks like text, why not use a spam filter?
Code: [Select]
Linux: ~/.tremulous/base/
Mac: ~/Library/Application\ Support/Tremulous/base/
Windows: C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Tremulous\base\

Without getting too detailed about the methods I use, I will say that using software rate-limiting designed to prevent spamming is usually counterproductive. My methods are much more effective.

Just another note:
If you want to play a few games with friends, you are welcome to use Betaserv. That is what it's there for. But don't think you will get away with kicking out anyone else. That is perhaps worse than excessive spamming. These will not be tolerated.
