It's good to see that this thread was already completely ignored and forgotten.
The way to do things is NOT to say "we should have flying aliens", but to search for related threads, think through your idea (graphs and bibliographies are good, but code is better), and post it in the appropriate place. What makes you think you were the first to come up with your idea? You probably we not, but are you the first who's willing to do work?
This is the underlying reason why people get upset with this community. People suggest their new idea which has already been suggested a dozen times before. They don't think through their idea and show no indication that they understand (or tried to) what they are suggesting beyond a very basic level. Someone who is fed up with it responds, likely more harshly than they should, and the person who made the suggestion is upset and others see this "mean behavior" and base opinions on it (and worse, share those opinions with others).
