Tremulous Mods FAQ

We see a lot of the same questions regarding mods asked over and over again on these forums. I wrote up a brief FAQ covering the most common ones on my website. Check this website before posting your question here:
http://risujin.org/tremulous

The website doubles as a shameless plug for my own mods and contains information on them as well. :)

If the FAQ doesn't cover something important, please let me know.

Can a moderator sticky this?

I know you're the modmaster and all, but you should probably mention TremX and Benmachine's Mod. If you're trying to run the mod info page for all mods for everyone it should include the ones that aren't yours too. :)

First of all, it's become increasingly difficult to get hold of my mod let alone play it since darkdodo's server died (I'm still developing it, but it's taking a back seat to a few other projects [some of them even non-Tremulous D: ]), so you may consider it not worth mentioning, at least not to newbies.
Secondly, and more importantly, that's Risujin's personal site right there and tremx and my mod have no place there. A more sensible suggestion, I think, would be shamelessly stealing all Risujin's hard work onto a wiki somewhere for a more general context, then adding sections on tremx and a short note on mine

I'd agree with this also. If it's Risujin's personal site, then it shouldn't be billed as a list of all mods for everyone. If it's a list of all mods for everyone, then it probably shouldn't be on his personal site.

Yep, there's a conflict of interest there. I am actually only referring to the top part of the website, the "general FAQ" and not to the specific mod sections. That is a list of n00b questions that gets asked far too often and no one has sticky'd a good place where these question could be answered. We could move all that to one of the wikis though, would that work?

I dont care if my mod is mentioned or not

but
- you can use it for your mods only since it is your website
option1 you can create a wiki somewhere ( MG? :P ) and let others contribute
option2 you can make additions to your site

but imo option1 and option2 is not necessary

Need help? Ask intelligently. Please share solutions you find.

Thats what we need, helpful players, not more powerful admins.

Only freeze tag was mentioned to me after Undeference tried to get people to spam me. I do get PMs now where people quiver and say "I'm not suggesting a mod!! Plz don't delete this right away!!". ;)

Oh, sorry, I didn't even check out the link. I don't think I was spamming your inbox. At least not in response to that. Let's play Relics! I got a replacement mouse. PM me Saturday or Sunday, or I'll have to figure out where the irc is on this thing. See ya.
