New Tremulous icon?

I tried to keep the colour scheme the same but not sure if it looks better or worse so here are some test images.

Im trying the tremulous logo T, anyone have any idea what font it uses? I can always trace it but it would be easier and better to have the font.

Feel free to change the icon all you want, I cant really take any credit or say you cant because i just rendered it and edited it to me full circle and simple color (since the opacity wasn't 100% in game)

Will make a boosted version now with the original Lightning Bolt (seems the other person changed the color for the lightning bolt when he made it boosted)


Maybe it can be THE icon for 1.2  :eek:

What program can you use to open/save in?

SVG = Saleable Vector Graphic
The images are defined as a series of Bizer's , so the image is infinitely saleable.
Inkscape is a great and free program to edit them

Rockzors, IMO. There appears to be a little corner of the lighting bolt above and below the T which is a bit annoying but apart from that let's make a vote for it to be included in 1.2 :-)

Nice, the image looks good but the svg isn't so sharp. Really gotta work out a way to get the spikes more spiky. All these icons including mine seem to have blunt edges...

That's a lot better, I appreciate that you gave it some depth with the dropshadow. That's a big improvement over the flat graphic, which I think would look out of place on today's desktops. The alien/human dynamic comes out well in this icon.

I have two suggestions. First, find another colour for the "T", one that contrasts well with the red and blue sides of the icon, without clashing. Second, and this may be argued succesfully against, see if you can add some depth to the shapes by employing gradients to give it a more 3D feeling. Of course, this would make the icon look less like the HUD icons, but it would make it fit in more with the contemporary style of icons that are found on most desktops.

Seconded. Also, I find it a bit too strong... somehow like it was disguising the T (Maybe the T could break through somehow). Also what TriedtoDestroyMetal has said sounds interesting. It might make the half alien/half human icon become the best of what we've seen so far.

Before Dave tells me to shut up or put up again  :wink:  I'll also say thanks for working on this stuff and being so patient with all of our suggestions!
