Halo type missions / maps?

Umm, yeah since you cant make a ring, why not make a map that looks like it? and perhaps missions too?

Ex;

Here is a good map that could be made into trem... This would be more like CTF, but I believe would work for Trem, 2 outposts close to each other...

For missions, could be simulated ship sorta situation like here:

The point of this map would be like... Escaping before the tyrants or w/e get you... so its like an obstacle course... also what makes this hard is you have limited resources to start with... Ex; 2 Spawns, no reactor...

& you have to get to the safe spot, where only wallcrawling will go, but for humans you get there by teleport from a spot or something... I dunno...

If you want halo, go play halo.
Any maps not in the MG repo?  Email me or come to irc.freenode.net/#mg.

There's this thing called "respectfully disagreeing." Its great 'cause it makes the person your disagreeing with more understanding of your argument instead of insults. Since when does insults/disrespect make someone want to pay attention to you?  :wink:

Evlesoa I do believe that Beaver Creek does have some potential. It seems that a lot of people really like A.T.C.S. even though it is (if you'll excuse my scrutiny) a pretty plain, basic, symmetrical map. Now, Beaver Creek offers some of the same symmetrical qualities but it does have a bit of "looks" to it. Good idea...

If you mean more open-air maps, I'm all for it, Ev.

Otherwise, I'll "respectfully disagree" and all that jazz.

Open maps are not suitable for both Tremulous and Quake3 engine.

If you want it, learn to map and make it. Frankly, if I wanted to play a generic multiplayer FPS with shoddy maps, I'd go play Halo multiplayer.
Stop it. Seriously.

Like many people said before me, Q3 engine is not build for big rooms like in Halo. Just look at Transit, it's an horrible map for that reason for many people : huge rooms.

I remember back when I had to wait a few seconds on the first load of Transit before I could even get >1fps. After that, though, it was fine.

Actually that's not the reason. The Q3 engine handles large rooms just fine. Just look at some of the TA maps and you'll see.
