It's always these excuses I hate, that are always to be made because of some normal, but unwanted behaviour of Tremulous.
One day, someone made a patch to simplify some player related commands, such as the consolidation of /kick <name> and /clientkick <num> to /kick <name|num>. The next day, someone called 3 found out about this "improvement", and showed that it's actually dumb. People had to learn the hard way as he owned the "upgraded" servers, where only admins could kick him. The admins started banning people with only numbers in their names (wether griefer or not), cursing everything and contacting ISPs. But one thing they did forget about: the people that could have stopped this from happening, the admins themselves. I mean, come on! Noone asked for you to program (or apply) that command consolidation patch. You use it, you are responsible. You can't claim warranty. So fuck off.
Everyone knows, a natural human behaviour is curiousity. There was no training mission, so there are noobs around! "What happens when I decon the reactor?" Such are vital questions that need to be answered. It's natural to allow deconning. But ban everyone who is noobish and curious? That means, generally, just explicitly add bugs for use, but perm ban all of their users (or even add detection and auto-kick, instead of fixing). Is that right? Of course not. Don't allow bugs in the first place.
Another example: to help out players with low net capacity, do not restrict them. Current clients allow lagged players, warp them, but users kick/ban them once found. WTF?!? Firstly, show them respect, secondly, it's dumb to say that lagging out is an advantage. Let's view it like this: If you downloaded a client that sucks and doesn't interpolate lagged players, don't start calling kick votes because of laggers. If you can't program your own Q3 protocol that will have no bugs whatsoever (knowledge is power), then you have no choice but to stick with the ones others provide, without warranty. Stop fucking cursing! Accept the fact that hard working people are provinding clients, and be thankful that you can even play. WTF you want more? Nothing is stopping you from fixing it. If you're stupid and you can't, fuck off, don't play, and there will be noone to curse. Bye.
It would be the ideal reality, when everyone realized that everyone has even amount of rights. Never should the majority rule. Let's prefer democracy over communism. Individuals all have the same rights. Here, however, that's not it. Something in life is just fucked up. When there is 1 lagger next to 99 fluid players, the lagger gets votekicked, because all 99 or 100 of them have sucking clients. Once all upgrade to new clients, there will be no more issues. But it's the same case! The same guy, the so called lagger is still here. Why not kick him? Nothing has changed so far, hes's still a long distance away from the server. Why no kickvotes, you motherfuckers? Ah I see. Kick reason = our clients suck. On a different server, when there are 99 out of 100 lagged sucking clients on a server, they will first curse eachother, then after realizing something (yes, that), they will curse the server, despite knowing that they are all >400msec away from it. So there's just something to pick and fuck with. Only this time the majority can't laught at the minority. What will be one day, when 50% of the players are being hacked, fucked with, etc. (that is 50% have old sucking clients, not that anyone hacks)? And one day, when the majority has already transitioned to 1.2.0, it will be a laugh if someone complains about outdated things. But it's the same case! There should have been no votekicks in the first place!
"fuck you hackers" means "fuck, im such a noob at making clients". (OK, I mean, you can complain like "FUCKLAGG!!", but expect yourself to be ignored.)
Majority. How I hate you. When the last marauder in Transit owns every enemy one by one with time, why do you call nextmap? Just because you were a noob and rushed the turrets like crazy, doesn't mean that good players should suffer from your shit. If you sucked, lay shit on yourself.
And there's that fucking noob all the time who's calling cheatkick and lagkick votes because he sucks. Fucking noob. Oh and the worst case is when the admins suck themselves! There's too much shit going down in life.
