Is it possible to make your current health pop up in the middle of the screen, right after you get damaged in the same way the border when you get damaged? This would be nice for people who usually concentrates on fighting instead of looking at the health bar all the time.
I'm a developer for the following projects(now I'm inactive) :
TremWars's QVMNot updated anymore
TremWars's Client and Server Executable
TremWars's QVM 2

There's no function to make the health appear at certain points.  Test out the hud for a while, I think it's pretty easy to use peripheral vision to see your health while you are fighting.

Nice, scores menu seem to have an empty space right above the spectators name. Enough room to fit maybe one more name. :P

The radar also becomes cloudy when you're camping base.

Ah, so you mean the list doesn't go the full length of the box.  I can fix this pretty easily - I actually hadn't tested it in a server so full that I'd be able to identify this issue, so thanks.

What do you mean by cloudy?  do you mean there's too many blips and it becomes distracting, or that the blips aren't visible enough?  I slightly decreased the opacity of the friendly blips, but I can bump it back up if they are not visible enough.

Even though I am not a fan of minimalist HUDs, I would just like to say this is the best minimalist HUD I have ever seen.

Thanks man!  Try it out and maybe you'll become a fan of minimalist HUDs?

P.S.  Is there any interest in custom menus or a changed main menu?  I can do that stuff...but I figure you rarely need to use it, and the default Tremulous graphics aren't too shabby (unlike the default HUD eeeek).

Mabey you could add an options thing to the main menu. Other than that all the default menus are ok.

--- VERSION CHANGES (2.2) ---

- Increased vertical length of player list in score panel
- Decreased opacity of friendly radar blips for increased visibility
- Increased size of human health to differentiate it from the ammo indicator
- Various typographical and minor syntax fixes

Comp, love it!

One question though... Where/how can you tell what level each team is at?  Normally I find that when pressing tab to pull up the scoreboard, but it doesn't appear to be there in this HUD.

Could it possibly be on the top right corner? o.o Quick check it!

Check the upper right corner for the stage/kill information.  Because it's always on your screen, there was no need to have it in the score panel.

Oh wait...are you referring to the fact that as a spectator, you can press tab and see the stage of both teams?  Hm, that is a tricky one.  I never thought of that.  I guess I should make that work again in the next version - the reason I deleted it is because the field that provides that information would be redundant for the alien and human huds (due to the upper right corner indicator).

Thanks man!

Love the HUD, though a couple of constructive criticisms. I think the full screen radar (on human HUD) is a little distracting, I've made it 200 round and neatly between the cross-hairs and bottom of the screen. I'm thinking of making the radar screen more transparent if i can, almost clear so that I can see the blips better.

I'm toying with the idea of making the health and ammo/evo counters small and to either side of the cross hairs too for both alien and human.

I especially LOVE the stage counter.

Do you mean the friendly blips or the alien blips?  Friendly blips I can decrease the opacity even more - it's already about half the default opacity.  I don't think there is anything I can do about the alien blips, but I find I like to be able to see those (before they eat me).

Yeah, everyone has his own preference so it's a good idea just to customize the hud if you can.  Let me know if you come up with any great ideas.

neither actually, the blips are fine, it's the radar lines that sorta get in the way of actually seeing your enemy. It's a little annoying having a circle over the top of a dretch. Can you make the radar lines more transparent, maybe almost invisible? For that matter not showing the radar image, only the blips might might be better than the whole thing if possible

I really like this UI style -- bright colors with grey backing. Very classy. All the windows and such in Trem should use this style.

Did you run comp_install.cfg?  You need to make sure that

g_disableScannerPlane is 1

Otherwise, the grid is drawn and that is not an intended effect!  If the installer.cfg is busted, that's a real problem.  But I think maybe you just did a manual install and neglected the install.cfg.  Those gridlines should not be there - I purposely made the installer to get rid of them using that variable.

P.S.  Thank you very much Risujin!

I copied everything from the comp_install.cfg into the autoexec.cfg, but something must have gone stupid. I fixed it by putting that line at the end of the file, not towards the beginning like I had done. Everything works out OK now thanks

Not sure why, but on TJW's server the scanner plane is still drawn. It is not drawn on other servers though.

Hm, that's interesting.  Thanks for the heads up, I'll ask around about this.  Maybe TJW uses a different variable name to disable the grid...

your config doesn't get copied to other mods except for the very first time you play a specific mod (and create that mod folder as a result)

Ah, right.  Thanks Kev.  To fix this problem, I think you can just run comp_install.cfg when you're on TJW's server.  It will save the appropriate settings to the TJW mod folder.  Or, I'm pretty sure you could just copy over your autogen.cfg file from your base folder to the TJW folder.

not sure actually, i think it should work, but switching mods causes very strange things to happen on occasion

Well, I deleted the TJW folder. Next time on on TJW I'll check to see if the scanner plane is drawn or not.

download comp's hud

copy comp_loading.cfg

go to base folder

make a ui folder

paste loading.cfg there

make a teachhead.cfg

point it to all the default huds except for the loading screen

and instead of pointing it to default loading.cfg point it to comp_loading.cfg or w/e
will sort out my sig, or I will get banned.
