I mean it is following windows suit.  It does everything like windows does.  Its newest interface option is a lot like vista's.  It defeats the purpose of linux because its so god damn bloated.

I am a windows XP user I really dont like linux (lack of drivers for new hardwares, painful installation, crappy inconsistent -look&feel wise- GUIs, not desinged for my grandpa)
but ubuntu is different It is the best linux distro I have ever seen It is small easy to install user friendly.

There are drivers, you can change the feel by downloading themes or using a different WM, your grandpa will like it. Software installation should be easy with application likes Synaptic or apt-get.
