I Think It Would Much More Improve The Gameplay If You Make The Aliens 3rd Person Look ! Instead Of 1st Person Look ! Why ?
in 1st person look :
 You cant see how you atack (no claws , scythes , zap , and tooths)
 It Is bit boring if you play as alien in first person
 You dont see yer taunts
 
in 3rd person look :
 You See How You Attack
 it is not so boring
 You See yer taunts
 Bad thing .... as tyrant maybe the most screen will be just the tyrant

2) you dont know exactly where will you fit and you cant keep track of the distances that well

Try to aim with a camera, following dretch, which is above him at about 32-64 units, and now get a hs from floor.

Why don't you help the devs with the alien hud models? That would be a far superior solution to enabling third person view. Also, the plural of tooth is teeth, and none of the alien classes have a scythe.

lol, scythes. Anyway, you can't headchomp when playing in 3d, well, depending on the angle atleast. Fp is just better imho

Over-The-Shoulder Third Person FTW.

yea, but GoW doesn't require you to shoot high speed buggers, atleast not that i can remember, but don't own the game. Did finish it at my friend's place.

If you want over-the shoulder third person, use devmap, then adjust cg_thirdpersonangle to around between 0 and 30. If you prefer the other shoulder, use either -X or 360-X. Then go dragoon and try attacking a turret or two. Tell me how successful you are.
