One potential problem/irritation - as it is, people select a side at the beginning of the map and then they spawn basically dependent on computer and connection stats.  would it be a problem if rather than people coming in one by one as their computers load, they all dumped at once on the spawns?  it probably wouldn't be a big issue, but it might annoy some to wait in line even after the planning period.
Like, make it so that there is some warmup and once the game starts for real, everybody spawns at the same time without using the eggs/telenodes.
urphy's rules of combat
8 ) Teamwork is essential; it gives the enemy someone else to shoot at.
18 ) Make it too tough for the enemy to get in and you can't get out.

ya, just what I was thinking.  with this, it would be easier to move as a group to rush or move the base or whatever, since you wouldn't have to deal with waiting/catching up to people.

This is absolutely going nowhere, a warming up, what the hell? How would you imagine that?

I really like the idea of having some time to plan before the killing. It would potentionally prevent builders moving in the first few seconds without saying anything to anyone and without support. As far as "no rush" prevention, it's not a good idea. Rushing is a big part of trem and it wouldnt be the same without it. Remember, while it's a strategy game, it's still a shooter/biter, not dungeons and dragons.
Yelling at team mates since 2006!
