Request: Web Designer
« on: December 09, 2007, 08:13:08 pm »
I am in need of someone who is able to develop a theme for the Tremleague site, the default web-league themes suck.
It would be great it someone could donate their talents, I was thinking of something along the lines of the tremulous.net site.

The current site is http://tremleague.com, if you could follow the main layout of the current system that would be even better, but beggers can't be choosers :)

Please PM or email me @ admin@tremleague.com if you're willing to help, Thanks :)

Registered, why does it say BZFlag?

Is that just the default setting?

I agree - really ugly theme. I would take on the job if I weren't working on other things.

I've yet to edit the source to change the site name from bzflag to tremleague, working on it ;)

Open the site in notepad look at the second line:
<title>BZflag CTF League: HOME</title>
and change that to say:
<title>Tremleague</title>
That'll fix. Html code is extremely eazy to use just google html tags and use what you need.

I don't mean to sound rude, but I'm no retard. I know html and how to change the title, please don't insult my intelligence. Plus, its php generated, so that means i have to edit a config file, which i can't find.

Obviously, I'm brand spankin new to this community (first post :P) but I may be able to help you out a bit.  I'm looking for a decent internship this summer, and the one I'm looking at wants me to have a couple more live sites on my portfolio.  Also, I really enjoy the communities that spring up around most linux games, so I suppose this would be an ok project for me to work on.  Luckily, I've just begun my winter break, and I have a couple hours free in the next week or two that I could use to put something together.  All I need from you is some degree of assurance that the site will be live for a couple of months, and a tiny, non-intrusive copyright to my name in the footer of the template.  Typically, I wouldn't worry about my name being there, but as I pointed out, I'm trying to score a job here ;)

Anyway, I'm usually more of a project manager with separate artists to handle the actual template design, but I've picked up a fair amount of skill (I hope) and I wouldn't mind putting Adobe Photoshop back to use for once.  I write nice, clean, standards compliant and cross browser compatible XHTML with heavy dependencies on CSS.  Obviously, I stay away from table layouts and also put a lot of work into search engine optimization.  In addition, I have a reasonable knowledge of javascript, as well as most server side stuff like PHP, RoR, PERL, Python and Coldfusion.   I'm not absolutely sure if I can handle the work quite yet, as I may have some paid jobs coming in for the break.  (I've gotta buy those Christmas presents somehow -.- ) Go ahead and shoot me an email with some details about the work though, and I'll see what I can do.
