Favourite Human Weapon?

 It's hard to say.. In 1.1 , definitely the shotgun.
Of course, different weapons have different ups and downs though: for base-killing, I like the pulse-rifle. For killing, I like the shotgun or the lasgun

jk i usually use the shotty with helmet and the light armor. and go onto a wall and try to jump dretches. That lines them up perfectly for a shotgun shot

Man, I can't choose. I <3 Rifles. I <3 MDs. I <3 Shotguns. Those are my 3 favorites. I dont care for lucis. The only time I chain is if im going chainsuit, and need to protect base or something. Las guns (as stated in my sig) are a woman's weapon. "Las" gun. I always try to point out how underrated rifles are. 150 dmg per clip. Burst fire. And need I remind you how much they cost? People like to argue with me that las is better than rifle. FALSE. Las only does slightly more damage. AND its 250 creds. I would rather keep the almost as good rifle, for 0 creds. I go through different phases. Sometimes I use only rifles, sometimes only shotties, and sometimes only MDs. And obviously as stated, it depends on what you want do do with it. If you are after goons, go shotty of course. If you are in the mood for sniping dretches, the Mass Driver is obviously your weapon of choice. Of if you want a combination of the two, rifle for the win. I dont know if I could chose between these 3 but if you had a gun to my head (hopefully youd be using a blaster) I would probably go with the md.

Lasgun is superior than rifle because of the fact that it provides you with uninterrupted fire for as long as you have ammo. Combine that with battpack, and it's even more effective.

That being said, shottie and MD do more damage per shot, and are what I would pick.

The Laz Gun also kills Dretches slightly faster than MG. But still, the free cost definately makes MG a valuable weapon to learn.

I love the MG for its burst-fire, but that's probably just because of my Counter Strike roots.

CS made burst-fire feel like a form of art.

Back in the day I was strictly an MD guy, which is basically why I burst fire. I treat it like an md. Also, I dissagree that las kills dretches faster. Rifle fires faster and only takes 5 bullets to kill a dretch. I say its about even.

Honestly, I don't play Humans a lot on 1.1 so I could be wrong, but I thought one laze blast killed dretches.

Sometimes I'll get lucky and the human's MG burst will only clip my Dretch, leaving it with like 5-10hp and the chance at another head-bite (because not everyone is good enough to use an MG as an MD ). That was basically what I meant by "faster". But if Laz needs more than one pop to kill a Dretch, then you're right. It is about even.

In fact, I think I'll go consult the manual real quick and find out...

CONCLUSION:

In the end, I think my point comes down to this:

If your a noob human, Laz Gun is an easy way to kill Dretches and assist when rushing because it doesn't require reloading and it's an extremely accurate ranged weapon.  

But if you're a pro like Bauer, the Laz Gun is simply a waste of money.

From tremulous.h: The lasgun takes 3 shots of 9 dmg to kill a dretch, rifle takes 5 shots of 5 dmg. The lasgun has a repeat rate of 200ms, the rifle has 90ms. Therefore, with a rifle, the dretch is dead 360ms after you start shooting, or 400ms with the lasgun (assuming 100% accuracy).

Its pretty comparable on those numbers, the difference is that the lasgun doesn't have to spend nearly half its time reloading. And can use a battpack for extra ammo. And has zero spread.

I think the basic rifle is doubtless the best human weapon. It's free, accurate, and does quite a lot of damage. You can carry 750 damage-worth of ammo for it.

Now that I've really thought it through, one laz blast killing a Dretch would basically make the Laz gun a fully-auto MD.
