Zeitgeist the Movie - Final Edition
« on: April 17, 2008, 05:22:16 pm »
So, thanks to fellow Nintendork nathan, I came across this awesome movie. It's a real treat to watch, and a good way to feed your slumbering paranoia.

The movie is about 2/3 government conspiracies and 1/3 religious history. It's a bit over the top, it's a bit paranoid, but it's oh so entertaining.

  • Part I: The Greatest Story Ever Told (religion)
  • Part II: All The World's A Stage (9/11 attacks)
  • Part III: Don't Mind The Men Behind The Curtain (money, corruption, and civil liberties)

You can watch this movie in a few legal ways:

You can download it via BitTorrent, legally, here:
http://sector.yweb.sk/Zeitgeist.Final.Edition.DVDRip.XviD.torrent

Or watch it via Google video, as I did:
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-594683847743189197

Or be stupid enough to actually buy the DVD:
http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com/dvdorder.htm

I suggest you get the BitTorrent download, since the Google video makes the text somewhat hard to read.

Thanks again to fellow Nintendork nathan for pointing this out to me!

Think ive seen some of this before but thanks for the torrent link - we're having our monthly activist film night tomorrow so this kind of stuff usually makes a talking point.

Since you are a complete retard. If you had taken the time to look on the website, you would have seen that you can watch the entire movie there via Google video, as well as order it on DVD. Stop trying to be a smartass when you obviously fail completely.

My time is too valuable to cater for clicking links to unknown places of uninterest  :D

Although a very informative "movie" (more a documentary imho) in my opinion it lacked some stuff or needed tweaking.

For example (always imho):
  • The documentary had too many written text, these should of been narrated
  • It needed more interviews (one on one convos)
  • Too much emphasis on stuff that after a while it gets boring - for example the 9/11 part
  • Movies need a good-looking website :)
  • Too long
  • Too many clips were taken from other documentaries

Just my 4 dollas

Having watched some truly dire fringe documentary stuff on google video, something to do with unconfined coinage, this doesn't really appeal.

This movie is hilarious! It's like me saying "Well let's see. Darwin said that the finches beaks changed because of favorable mutations (adaptation). This is also seen in his statement 'The wings on these birds changed because of conditions and wind currents.' What this really means is the 'beak' is actually the poles of the Earth and they are changing because of the relative location of the sun to the Earth. The 'wings' are actually the oceans because the ocean levels change due to the moon's gravitational pull!" All this movie does (at least Part 1) is take examples of other gods, use false information, and conform and drastically misinterpret scripture from the Holy Bible.
Everybody knows there's a party at the end of the world.

Well that is most certainly debatable.... so how would you interpret the bible or for your point of view how would it be interpreted correctly? Or would you take it literally?

I'm not attacking any religion before any accusations just I'm curious that how can you justify, apart from faith, that what is the correct interpretation of a book that had been written in several different languages in several different times by several different people and assembled into one big book in several different ways by several different conventions which book's versions then had been translated back and forth so many times that maybe the original writers wouldn't recognize their text if they'd be able to see it... I'm not justifying it's contents just I am curious.

(I have seen many bibles and remember that most of them are totally different. The most harsh difference is between my grandfathers new bible and the copy of the first hungarian translation of the Holy Bible - that has an approx. 500 years old text copied into it. It is also more than ten times bigger then the aforementioned bible while it's word/page count would only justify less difference in it's size...)
