Encoding MP3s always seem to take longer than it should. Do you wish you can find a way to make the process run faster?

Now there is a way. Enter this Contest by creating a program that will speed up MP3 encoding on a CUDA-enabled GPU, and the winner will receive a US$5,000.00 cash prize, subject to the Official Rules.

Now I know this isn't really something to get excited over but some of you are skilled, and I use that term loosely, C programmers and I'm positive that many of you could use $5000. What've you got to lose?

Cause MP3 Player sounds cool, while OGG player just sounds nerdy. Marketing issue.

MP3 Player is a weird name anyhow, since most 'MP3 Players' also play other formats. So you could call it a WMA player, or Wave Player.

I prefer OGG but none of my portable players support it (mp3, wav and of course Microsoft formats).
