Anisotropic Filtering does very well at 2x, and FSAA set to 4x is perfect. Enablind triple buffering only has a benefit if you have Vsync enabled, which in turn has no effect on the quality of the screenshots, as far as I know. Forcing mipmaps to Trilinear is not needed, as r_texturemode GL_LINEAR_MIMAP_LINEAR in the Tremulous console does the same.

Lava, can this be done in options, or must it be set by graphic card settings? (such as the Nvidia application that comes with all gforce cards)

ATI is in the exact same place, or close enough.

Video is a completely different approach. Also: Why do you think all those sport photographers have 10000+ dollar equipment if according to you one only needs to take a still from a video?

It's cheaper to buy still photography equipment, which would actually cost nearer to AUS$2500 for top of the line stuff, than to buy a high speed, high quality digital video camera, which would cost you closer to AUS$6000 for the camera alone. A good tripod plus editing facilities and such would add at least another AUS$1000.

SPORTS PHOTOGRAPHERS. You know, the people that spend 10000 Dollars on the LENS alone. Pros.

Your graphics card settings. Only the console command I wrote down can be set inside Tremulous. Nvidia and Ati both have bloated progs that come with their drivers, that let you set all these options rather easily.

Bissig, Kaleo, gtfo this thread. There are many different artistic ways of approaching photography. Some wait for what they think is the perfect moment to take a picture, they take it, and accept it for what it is. Others will take multiple pictures or a video and go back to select individual frames that they like. Some will stage things, it's called a photo shoot, and it's still artwork. You do whichever you think will yield the most expressive results that you can think of.

I demo everything, so I'd demo it, write down times of interest, and then go back and look at them.

As far as demo pausing and playing goes, DL this cfg for viewing demos:

The slow-mo is very useful for getting to key frames.
Code: [Select]
Linux: ~/.tremulous/base/
Mac: ~/Library/Application\ Support/Tremulous/base/
Windows: C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Tremulous\base\

You can say that again! 40MB worth of crap just for the graphics card, then another 53MB for the motherboard.

That because they are unified drivers, and supply drivers for a wide range of cards, in one distribution.

Nice but in the first one, people aren't supposed to know that part of your body can disapeer into the wall :)

@Ellohir: Your screenshots have no FSAA. Please read Khalsa's post.

And if you don't know how to enable FSAA, just ask, since Khalsa was correct when he said you have an eye for it!

Although it's not a stock 1.1.0 map, the quality seems ok to me.

How do you take such nice screens?

Do u spectate and get another to pose, if so, how do u get rid of all the writing.

Or is there some way you can take a 3rd person screen of urself?

People usually take in-game demos and then replay them on slow motion. But replaying tires me a lot, so I usually have a walk as spec, following groups of humans/aliens on free mode to see what happens. I get my graphic card to the limit because on this walks I don't really care about having 20fps.

Please don't spam the thread with huge screenshots, and if you do feel like you should spam this thread with huge screenshots, at least show that you actually have read Khalsa's post. If you have no idea what I am talking about, try enabling FSAA (Anti-Aliasing) and make some new screenshots. -Lava

I think you guys should do some more shots of bases. With action. Like turrets firing at a rant.

I'm too lazy myself, to start mucking around with my already perfect (in my opinion) graphics settings.

How to enable FSAA is mentioned earlier in the thread, and Google is your friend when you need an explanation about what FSAA exactly is.
Being new is not an excuse to not read before posting.

And how does one activate FSAA in Mac OS X. Apparently there is a CVAR, but google was relatively uninformative.
