Always happy to help our non-native-speaking friends from abroad find a new term for the verb "to drink".  ;)

Have you ever tried the ice cider? It's awesome, and so much better than applejack produced the modern way (adding neutral grain spirits to apple brandy). You simply let the apple juice ferment into hard cider, then freeze the water in the cider (in the old days in Quebec, they would simply leave it outside on a winter night). Whatever doesn't freeze is more alcohol than water, and this concentrates its apple-y goodness, without producing a harsh drink. It's expensive, and almost too easy to drink, but it's more for sipping than guzzling. It's what they drank here in North America when they didn't have access to, or couldn't afford, or were somehow prohibited from getting spirits from Europe. Although now, it's a lost art.

Tea. Lots and Lots of Tea.

If there was a Tea Drinkers Anonymous I would be at meetings every other day.

At any given point I generally keep around ~200 different types of tea. I drink almost every kind and generally have 3-4 different kinds a day.

Since it's monsoon season I've been enjoying a lot of Darjeeling and North Indian teas. Also it's a good time for some early plucked Oolong's if you like them a little more bitter than a full-out autumn Oolong (I do).

If you can afford it, an early cup Si Da Ming Cong always hits the spot [too bad it's so expensive :-( ] Make sure to bake the leaves over an open coal first and you will have one of the best tea's you can get this season for early-morning drinking.

Maybe I should ask Amanieu to make a trip over to the Fujian province and mail me some....

Current varieties on hand: 3 kinds of Roiboss (Capetown, Green, and Unadulterated), two different fresh Oolongs, the black Nilgiris with lemon myrtle in it, two bags of Bai Mudan, and a withering old bag of Kali Cha. I'll take your advice on the Darjeeling. I had to look up the Wuyi Oolong you referred to.

I'd like to see who on these forums knows about coffee?
Personally, I have a soft spot for Arabica...
